Our initial site investigation developed a mini master plan for the site to ensure the new facilities would enhance opportunity’s for future growth of the school on a very restricted, rocky hills site.
The buildings design responds to continue the architectural language of the existing campus while adding flexible learning opportunities for 21st Century learning.
Located on Halendee Road Wallison, we designed new teaching, sporting and library facilities with strong linkages to the existing school site.
Stage 1 featured a new two classroom teaching facility and library whose footprint shifts off the existing school grid but maintains a strong connection through slot window vistas between rows of shelves.
Aligned with the western boundary road, the library presents a projected reading nook into the main street.
Stage 2 saw development of a second stream in an enclave central to the playing fields and the conversion of the covered area into an outdoor sports centre.
On a narrow site that restricted connection with the existing school, a bush poled verandah was incorporated to link the two. An enclosed grassed playing area creates a central school green for passive recreation and school group activities and gatherings.
