Client : Private Residence
The double storey home replaces the existing modest 50’s bungalow for an immediate and extended family.
The corner block provided opportunities for the site and house to be zoned into a number of different spaces for various living, entertaining and play activities which connect internally and inside with outside spaces.
The entry from the south leads into a gallery hall with white plastered wall, concealing the private heart of the house. Guest room and gym to the south allow separate entry and private views over the front garden.
Entered through a small gap in the plastered gallery wall, the main living eating and cooking zone is in the heart. The double volume living and dining area connects to an outdoor living area and garden to the north through large sliding doors and windows. A separate zone to the east expands the kitchen on family pasta sauce cooking days and provides a sunny breakfast area which extends outside to a private timber portico.
Upstairs, the stair landing provides a reading nook and library with picture window overlooking the existing liquid amber canopy. To the east is the main bedroom, robe and ensuite with large study overlooks the living room void. The kids open plan living and sleeping zone is to the west and overlooks the main living room void.
